CANCELLED: World’s First Drive-In Family Rave – London 18 July DJ Slipmatt
***We’re very sorry to announce that The Drive-In Club went into liquidation earlier today. As a result, our Family Rave this Saturday, along with all of their other events, has been cancelled. The company has confirmed that all ticket holders are being contacted and refunded in full.We’re very lucky to have so many lovely customers who put their faith in us by buying tickets. Thank you to each and every one of you. We were really looking forward to seeing you all again and are very sad that we’ll have to wait a little longer. The Drive-In Club worked so hard to put on events that are safe for customers and we will be following up on other opportunities to run events in this way.
In the meantime, we will continue to run our free Kitchen Raves every Sunday at 2pm, so we hope you will join us this Sunday when Barry Ashworth (Dub Pistols) takes his turn on the decks.***
The world’s first drive-in family rave!
Join Big Fish Little Fish family rave and guest DJ Slipmatt (SL2) for this exciting new event at London’s biggest outside entertainment experience this summer The Drive In Club UK. We’ll be in Brent Cross on Saturday 18th July.
As you know, safety is always the number one priority for Big Fish Little Fish, and this is why we are pleased to link up with The Drive-In Club, who have worked closely with local authorities to ensure rigorous safety practices to make these events possible. Venues will be cash-free, ticketing will be contactless along with food and drink purchases. Cars will be parked at safe distances with a strict 2-metre spaced queue. There will be extensive handwashing stations and toilet facilities with clear safety messaging that all follow government protocols.
Watch the screens from either inside or outside your vehicles listening via Drive-In Club FM, their very own radio frequency. You will also have the option of bringing chairs to sit (or dance!) in a safely allocated area next to your car. They have even got food and drink covered, delivering directly to your car.
Each vehicle must have at least one child under 16 in it – it’s a family friendly show! Tickets are £40 per car for the 90 minute set.
Big Fish Little Fish created the family rave phenomenon, where all generations of the family can enjoy a magical sense of freedom together, at the same time in the same place, dancing to tunes mixed by world class DJs. Started in Brixton in 2013 by parent and long-time raver Hannah Saunders, Big Fish Little Fish quickly caught the public’s imagination, and in the past 7 years has hosted a diverse collection of over 250 DJs, played in iconic venues across the UK, Australia and Ireland while winning an impressive number of awards.
Great music is at the heart of what we do. Basement Jaxx, Jumping Jack Frost, Aphrodite, 2 Bad Mice, DJ SS, Altern8, Tom Middleton,The Orb, Scratch Perverts, Readers’ Wifes, Coldcut, Terry Farley, DJ Food, London Elektricity, Rob Tissera, Krafty Kuts, Hatcha, Terry Francis and Mixmaster Morris have all played, and music genres include acid house, old skool, techno, house, tech house, drum and bass, jungle, UK Garage and anything that takes our fancy.
Families have raved together at venues as varied as Fabric, Leadmill, Lakota, Fac 251, National Gallery, the V&A, Coventry Cathedral, Cardiff Castle, Epic, Glasgow Museum, Margate Dreamland, Sage Gateshead, Glastonbury Festival, BlueDot, Melbourne Music Week, Camp Bestival, London Pride, BBC Radio’s Biggest Weekend, Bellandrum – and even woods.
Our regular events have a strong festival feel with dress up themes, confetti, foam, bubbles and giant balloons plus high quality multi-activity crafting areas designed by Captain Cookie Crafts. When these gatherings became impossible in March, we wanted to find another way to cheer people up and help them connect – and so the Kitchen Rave was born, a free, live-streamed virtual family rave with 70,000 families tuning in on Mothers Day. These still take place every Sunday afternoon.
The Drive-In Club will be a new chapter in family raving and Big Fish Little Fish will bring the same creativity and sense of fun to this completely new format, along with the Godfather of Rave himself DJ Slipmatt (SL2) – so you are guaranteed a banging set of perfect rave classics from one of the scene creators.
